TappScale

Tap to scale — the shared groundwork behind small software products.

TappScale is a shared product platform. It provides the common groundwork that every small software product needs — accounts and sign-in, permissions, background workflows, data storage, transactional email — so that each product doesn't have to build the same foundation again from scratch.

It is run deliberately small: a single operator, a documented infrastructure, and products that stay independent of one another while sharing what they can.

What the platform provides

identity
Accounts, sign-in and single sign-on for the products built on the platform.
access
Fine-grained permissions — who may see and change what, per product and per tenant.
workflow
Long-running background processes that survive restarts and retry on their own.
datastore
Managed databases with backups and restore paths, isolated per project.
messaging
Events between services, so products stay decoupled as they grow.
notification
Transactional email to the people who use the products — see below.

Status

In active development

The platform is being built now, and the first products are being onboarded in a closed beta. There is no open sign-up yet.

Email from TappScale

We send transactional email only: address verification, password resets and invitations — each one triggered by something a registered user did.

We do not send marketing email, we do not use purchased or third-party address lists, and we do not pass addresses on. Every message names the product it came from and how to reach us. Bounces and complaints are recorded and acted on; an address that bounces or complains is suppressed rather than retried.
